In Petrozavodsk the youth urban policy programme for the period till 2010 is elaborated. Main programme creators are Youth Department of the City Administration and the Union of children and youth organizations of Karelia. The determination of programme “Youth policy of the city of Petrozavodsk” confirmation was accepted by the city council session on December 26.
The programme starts a new development stage of the youth urban policy. Annually within the programme it is planed to support not less than 25 projects of youth and children public organizations. Every year it is planed to open one new community teenager club. The system of youth “electronic participation” in the city life will be established, which main element will be an interactive youth Internet web portal. The work on the international youth collaboration development will be continued. After the project “Youth House Karelia” accomplishment a new joint project with the city of Joensuu will be elaborated. The former cinema “Sampo” will be reconstructed and will become city youth cultural centre – here the city relies on the support from the budgetary of the Republic. “Electronic labour exchange for youth” will be opened, which makes search of work for youth easier. The City Centre of youth employment assistance will enlarge its activity and become the Youth Information Centre that will give to young people information of different opportunities of participation in city life.
Programme financing from the city budget will total 1700 thousand rubbles. It is planed to attract 19840 thousand rubbles from extrabudgetary resources.
